Cryptocurrency use in Brazil grew in 2025, according to a new study by Mercado Bitcoin.
The platform reported a 43% rise in total trading volume compared with the previous year, alongside an average investment of more than $1,000 per person.
The study, titled Raio-X do Investidor em Ativos Digitais 2025, suggests that Brazil’s digital asset market is becoming more structured.

It noted that investors are currently focusing less on quick profits and more on long-term portfolio planning. Mercado Bitcoin, recognized as the largest cryptocurrency exchange in Latin America, based its findings on activity within its platform.
The average investment per user reached around 5,700 Brazilian reais, just over $1,000. At the same time, 18% of participants spread their funds across multiple cryptocurrencies.

The report also noted increased interest in lower-risk crypto products. Investments in digital fixed-income instruments, known locally as Renda Fixa Digital (RFD), more than doubled, up 108% compared with the previous year.
Mercado Bitcoin distributed around $325 million to investors through these products in 2025.
